Hyaluronic acid in the body

Where does hyaluronic acid in your skincare come from?

As we have established by now, HA is an amazing ingredient as a moisturiser as it has a high capacity to retain water and hold onto moisture, which is extremely important for your skin.  For this reason, HA is an immensely popular ingredient in skincare and makeup when it comes to moisture balance and it is known for its extremely high moisturising properties. Hyaluronic acid can be obtained in different ways. Biologically through the synthesis by fibroblasts, synthetically and naturally from plant and wheat fermentation. In the case of fermentation, wheat is fermented with specific bacteria, then purified and precipitated. This process extracts the hyaluronic acid naturally present in the wheat, giving a naturally derived hyaluronic acid.

There are various forms of HA, the most common and effective form is being used as skincare. Hyaluronic acid is commonly used as topical treatment such as serum or gel lotion. However, hyaluronic acid can be taken as supplement, but we recommend consulting professionals before you do so.
