1. What makes Morihan Organic Uji Matcha special?

Morihan Organic Uji Matcha is a premium green tea powder crafted from shade-grown tea leaves in Uji, Kyoto – the heart of Japan’s matcha tradition. It’s 100% organic, rich in antioxidants, and offers a smooth, authentic flavor that’s perfect for tea ceremonies, lattes, and even creative desserts.

2. Is this matcha certified organic?

Yes. Morihan Matcha carries Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) certification, which means it’s grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, following strict organic guidelines.

3. How can I enjoy Morihan Matcha?

You can whisk it into a traditional bowl of hot matcha, blend it into a creamy latte, or use it in baking, smoothies, and sweets. Its fine texture makes it easy to work with in all kinds of recipes.

4. What does the flavor taste like?

Expect a smooth, slightly sweet, umami-rich taste with a natural, fresh aroma. Compared to lower-grade matcha, Uji matcha is less bitter and more balanced.

5. How much should I use per serving?

For a classic matcha tea, use about 1–2 grams (roughly ½ to 1 teaspoon) with 60–70 ml of hot water. Adjust for lattes or recipes based on your taste preference.

Yes. Like all matcha, it naturally contains caffeine, but thanks to L-theanine, the energy boost is steady and calming—no coffee jitters.

7. What are the health benefits?

Matcha is packed with antioxidants (especially catechins), supports metabolism, promotes relaxation due to L-theanine, and is a great addition to a wellness-focused lifestyle.

8. How should I store it?

Keep it in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. After opening, reseal tightly and enjoy within a few weeks for the freshest taste.

High Grade Organic Matcha

I’ve been getting into matcha over the last year and trying various brands from high street shops and large online retailers. They were good but my friend bought me back a pouch of Morihan from Japan and I can’t go back now. It simply has a superior taste profile to the others I have tried and I was so glad to find that Kokoro stock it.
