Hada Labo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil Beauty Review 2022
You may know Hada Labo for its many hydrating skincare products, especially their Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion series. However, they carry other skincare products, such as cleansing oil, the Hada Labo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil. Read more to find out about it!
Personally, I don’t really like oil cleansers that much because in my past experiences with oil cleansers, I felt that it gets very messy cleansing my face. However, I have seen articles where it mentions how great oil cleansers are, especially for people who have dry and sensitive skin (that’s me), as it replenishes the natural oils on your face. So I decided to give it a go.
If you read my past articles, the Hada Labo Gokujyun series is one of my favorite lines of Japanese skincare product lines ever! I’ve never used their oil cleansers before, so I’m excited to share with you guys my experience trying out this product for the first time!
About Hada Labo
Hada Labo, a brand owned and created by ROHTO Pharmaceutical Co., is famous for its affordable skincare products loved by all ages. It’s also very famous for the main ingredient used in their skincare products, hyaluronic acid, which helps anybody with any skin type achieve the maximum capacity of moisture and hydration.
Quick Facts about The Hada Labo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil
The Hada Labo Gokujyun Oil Cleansers are made to not only remove the makeup and other residues on your face, but at the same time, also moisturize the skin.
Like many other Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid products, one of the important components of the Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Cleanser is that it contains hyaluronic acid, a moisturizing agent. This particular product not only does it contain ordinary hyaluronic acid but also contains super hyaluronic acid. The benefit of the super hyaluronic acid is that it holds moisture about twice the amount of water, making your skin more moisturized than ever while cleansing your face!

Texture: Smooth, light and thin oil
Fragrance: Minimum scent of olive oil
My Initial Impression
I have never tried this product before, it was very exciting to look at the product for the first time. The first thing that my eyes went to was the picture of the olive on the packaging, which I immediately knew that the product contained olive oil. Other than that, I liked how the packaging was very simple, just like the rest of the Hada Labo products. Also, there was an English translation about what the product is, which was written as “Moist oil cleansing.”
Many oil cleansers that I prefer to use are usually very light, not heavy and thick, so I was very happy to see that this product was very light and thin in texture. It also has a very soft scent of olive oil, nothing too crazy that would bother me.
Using the Product
I used this product on a day that I had a full face of makeup, featuring my waterproof mascara and eyeliner that I have a hard time getting off with my micellar water.
The packaging mentions that I should put about 2-3 pumps of product onto the palm of my hand then using the other hand to put it on the face and cleansing using circular motions with both hands. I felt like 2 pumps of oil was absolutely enough for me, so that’s what I did. It didn’t mention how long I was supposed to cleanse for, so I did so for about one minute, trying to reach every single area of my face. To wash it off, they recommend using cold or lukewarm water, so I used lukewarm water to rinse it off my face.
The Effectiveness of the Product
There are two things to look into when looking at the effectiveness of this cleansing oil. Although the cleanser is meant to clean off makeup, because this particular product also helps improve the moisture of the skin, I will be evaluating the two features of the product.
Taking Off Makeup
This product did very well removing non-waterproof makeup, such as concealer off my face. My concealer, blush, lipstick, eyeshadow and bronzer, came off very nicely. I think that it reached my pores to the deepest parts, lifting all the gunk that was left there.
However, when it came to my waterproof eyeliner and mascara, my eye area was still left with some slight black residue. On the packaging, it does mention that it would take off waterproof makeup, so the reason why there was a light bit of residue left on my skin may be because my waterproof mascara and eyeliner are very strong.
I think that because this product is very gentle for taking off makeup, it is perfect for those people who have light makeup or eyelash extensions.
The Result of My Skin Condition
As this oil cleanser is known for its moisturizing features, it’s very important for me to share how my skin felt afterwards, in terms of moisture. I think that my skin felt much more moisturized than it was before I started using this product. Before using this oil cleanser, I used micellar water that just made my skin feel drier, especially during the winter season. But by using this cleansing oil that specifically contains hyaluronic acid and pure high-quality olive oil, I think that my skin texture and condition improved so much. I would say that this product is perfect for skin that is sensitive and dry like mine.
Lastly, I would also like to mention that washing my face with this cleansing oil has definitely helped enhance my skincare application, as my skin seems to absorb the skincare products, such as lotion and cream, much better than it did without it.

Overall, I think that my skin has gained positive results from using this cleansing oil. My skin is softer than ever, and not only did this product help me to love oil cleansers, but applying my skincare has never been better.
This is a very gentle oil cleanser that is great for everyday use, especially for those who may apply light makeup, or for those of you who may have eyelash extensions. I recommend this for those of you who may live in drier regions, or have sensitive/dry skin in general. But because of how light the oil is and how gentle it is, I definitely think that anyone, even those with oily skin, can use it and should try out!
